      I can’t help but think that future historians (again, this always comes with that caveat that there will *be* future historians) are going to find it so crazy, looking back at us on hindsight, that we didn’t see a conflict coming.

      This is classic Putin, he pushes the boundaries and when we are found wanting he’ll push them even more next time.

      I suspect historians will look back at Obama’s inaction over the events in Ukraine in 2014 and how they sowed the seeds of what we have now. If the West reacted then as they did in 2022 they’d be a bit more timid.

      Yeah this is pretty standard hybrid warfare. You see a lot of this in the news but be sure we’re fucking with them in retaliation.

      Your not gonna see the bbc advertise it wasn’t actually Ukraine who hacked this refinery or bribed some official to give us intel that would later to be given to Ukraine.
