“In parallel, the Liaison Office of the Republic of Kosovo in Serbia has also notified the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia about the case, requesting increased monitoring and full transparency from the Serbian authorities regarding the procedures undertaken.
“A verbal note has also been sent to the diplomatic missions of the Quint countries accredited in Serbia, with the aim of ensuring the engagement of international partners in protecting the rights and security of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo,” the press release states.
“The Liaison Office of the Republic of Kosovo in Serbia will proceed with the submission of an official request to allow a visit to the arrested person, as soon as the exact location where he is being held is confirmed.”
“The MFA reiterates its full and continuous commitment to clarifying all the circumstances of the case and ensures that public opinion will be informed in a timely and continuous manner about all developments,” the ministry’s response states.
“Once again, the MFA calls on the International Community to increase vigilance and pressure on the Serbian authorities, which continue the practice of mistreatment and intimidation of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, thus violating international norms and standards for human rights,” the announcement concludes.
