Tovërlani confirms departure from Kosovo U-21 coach position

Today, Pristina announced the appointment of Afrim Tovërlani as the team’s head coach.
This decision came after the mutual agreement of Arsim Thaqi yesterday.
Tovërlani returned to Prishtina, having previously been in charge of the team for two periods.
However, upon accepting Pristina’s offer, Tovërlani has resigned from Kosovo U21, where he was the coach until yesterday.
This was announced by “Toki” itself on the social network “Facebook”.
“Until today I have had the honor of being the coach of the Kosovo U21 National Team, while from today I will continue my journey as the coach of FC Prishtina.
I thank the Football Federation of Kosovo, led by Agim Ademi, for their understanding and support in joining FC Prishtina and leaving the U21 in the most correct way.
A special thank you goes to the technical staff, the medical staff, the players and everyone who was part of this journey. It has been a privilege to work with dedicated and professional people.
My decision is based on two main reasons:
1. My contract with the U21s expired at the end of December.
2. My desire to be closer to my daily profession.
I leave the team in a very good state, with great chances of qualifying for Euro 2027, and I am proud of the work we have done together. Everyone who has been close to me knows that I have always worked with honor, fairness and dedication.
“Whenever the Kosovo National Team needs my contribution, I will be ready,” he wrote.
In his two periods as coach with Pristina, Tovërlani has won seven trophies./Express newspaper/
