I’m kinda not expecting this to stick in the way that the Trump “grab em by the pussy” thing didn’t. Like he’s clearly this person so who’s surprised/changing their mind on it? But I suppose it can’t hurt to put the screws in a bit more.

Enoch Powell was right, and he probably understated it.

Man with written reports from his teacher confirming racist views at school (repeatedly making targetted anti semitic comments towards a Jewish classmate is racist, it’s not banter, and the victim might reasonably hold a good memory of it even if it was 50 years ago) goes on to make political career of saying things that appeal to racists and now is realistically close to achieving ambition to become Prime Minister, and refuses to deny being racist when called out for it. I miss the days when you could ostracise racist dickheads for being racist dickheads, or at least expect aspiring world statesmen to be held accountable.

Is it Tommy Robinson? Is it Enoch Powell? Well, surely it’s Nigel Farage!
It’s actually Katie Lam, a ‘rising star’ in the Conservative Party. Britain’s right has shifted and shifted to ever more right-wing and racist rhetoric, and it’s only a matter of time before that translates into actual policies. Our current political environment isn’t one in which you can take down a politician on the basis of divisive and inflammatory things they’ve said. It’s too mainstream now, and you know that because even that charisma and principle vacuum Keir Starmer has been experimenting with it.

He’s toast now. the attack dogs are out. You know there’s a room at several newspapers frantically phoning around to get the receipts. for someone who has been given the easiest of rides by the media (led by the BBC platforming him) as he was a convenient tool to get what they wanted from the main parties, I can’t wait to see this unravel.

Is anyone really surprised Farage may have said some racist stuff?
JoeBagadonut on
The issue Farage is facing is that he’s always presented himself as a political outsider. He wants people to think he’s the jolly bloke who just wants a pint at the pub and a quick fag every so often.
However, he’s now an MP and is considered to be a legitimate contender for Prime Minister. Controversies which would previously be washed out of the news cycle won’t go away as easily and he’ll be under more scrutiny.
His current strategy of refusing to admit guilt for anything and deflect deflect deflect won’t cut the mustard any more. He could have just stood up and admitted “I said some regrettable things when I was younger, I apologise for that and can ensure that they don’t reflect my current beliefs” and this controversy would have probably gone away by now.
Instead, every deflection is an admission. Continued refusal to address the issue directly gives the press more incentive to keep digging. None of what’s coming out should be of any surprise to anyone paying attention but it’s still damaging to his credibility.

What do the media think this will achieve. Powell was immensely popular among the general public.

Here’s me thinking Nigel Farage is just a common sense talking bloke down the pub who has the best interests of these British isles at heart and it turns out, to my absolute surprise, that he’s actually a racist.
Who’s next? Clarkson?!

Are people finally waking up to the fact that Farage is, and has always been, a racist. He has been allowed by the UK media to literally hide in plain sight. Using every available platform to spread division, create tensions and hate among communities. The British media have enabled this spiteful agitator to spread his brand of politics across the country. Affecting previously peaceful multicultural communities that are now divided and suspicious of one another.
He works with and acts for outside foreign interests – take in to account the fact that he works with MAGA along with Christian Conservatives in the US, Steve Bannon, the AfD in Germany and of course the Russian State – no-one works for RT without working for the Russian security services. Again, hiding in plain sight.
As for the new Reform UK gold badge: what does anyone make of the date on it? Because there is no date relevent to the one shown on it with reform UK itself. The date 2018 is of no signifigance. The No. 18, on the other hand does. **The number 18 is used as a coded symbol within Nazism and white supremacist ideologies.** Also associated with Combat 18: a violent neo-Nazi terrorist organization that operates in 18 countries across Europe, North America, Oceania, Africa, and South America.
So, why the 20 on one side and then 18 on the other side of the badge? Is this code hiding in plain sight? Seems as though it is. Again, the traitors and charlatans hiding in plain sight.

If this was, as many say, pointless the man wouldn’t be squirming so much. To many he is still the guy at the pub. This has the potential to change him to the asshole in the pub and nobody likes that guy

Again, this is going to do little to turn off his supporters. It is great if this costs hims the protest vote and loses him disaffected Tories then great, however his supporters will never ditch him. He could praise Hitler tomorrow and it would not dent his popularity with them
