Eliot Bujupi is one of the most talented Kosovar strikers and the great hope of the Kosovo National Team.

Born and raised in Germany, he decided to leave the German national team’s age groups and join Kosovo U19 in 2023.

Today he is part of the U21 National Team and is showing excellent form at KVC Westerlo.

The 19-year-old was loaned to Westerlo from German giants Stuttgart to gain more space and experience, and is considered the future of the German club.

In an interview with Telegrafi, Bujupi spoke about his adventure in Belgian football, the matches with the Kosovo U21 National Team, but also those with Stuttgart.

Bujupi initially spoke about the reception he received in Belgium, while remaining happy with the level of play and training sessions.

“Things have gone very well for me so far in Belgium. I received a very warm and welcoming welcome. The level of play and training sessions is very high, which is extremely important for my development as a footballer. Here, work is done professionally and everything is organized in the best possible way,” Bujupi initially told Telegrafi.

He has also revealed the reasons why he decided to join Westerlo, even though he had other offers.

“The main reason was that the discussions and the idea they presented to me were very clear and promising. I was convinced that this was the right step for my vision and for the next chapter of my career. There was interest from Italy, England and Germany, but in the end, together with my family, I decided on Westerlo. This was the best option for my professional development,” Bujupi continued.

Regarding his personal goals this season, Bujupi says that as a striker, he wants to score goals.

“My goals are to score goals and get enough playing time. I want to develop and grow as a footballer, but also as a person. My objective and dream is to be part of the National Team Play-Off in March. Until then, I will work hard to get the most out of myself,” said Bujupi.

The 19-year-old has become very important for the Kosovo U21 National Team, where he has scored three goals in five matches, while last year he also debuted with the A National Team.

Regarding the U21 National Team and their chances of qualifying, he said that they have achieved good results and believe in qualifying.

“We have achieved very good results in the last five matches and I believe that we have qualification or a place in the knockout stage somewhat in our hands, as we play three of the last five matches at home, at Fadil Vokrri. We know our quality and we will enter every match with courage to get the best possible results”, said the talented Dardanian striker.

Bujupi was constantly scoring goals with Stuttgart’s youth team in the UEFA Youth Champions League, he remembers those moments with pride.

“Scoring for Stuttgart in the Youth League was a very special experience for me. I scored five goals in six games and helped the team reach the round of 16.”

“Every goal had its own value, because every match was decisive. It was a fantastic platform where the best teams and players of that generation competed,” the Dardanian striker concluded for Telegrafi.

Bujupi has started playing with Westerlo, while he expects to initially become important with the Belgian club, get minutes and then receive an invitation again from the Kosovo A National Team.

The great talent from Drenas is considered the great hope of Kosovo, while he has the talent and potential, now he needs to explode with goals in Belgium. /Telegraph/
