On December 28, the citizens of Kosovo will once again head to the ballot boxes to elect their representatives at the central level.

The extraordinary elections are being held after the LVV failed to form a government, several months after the February parliamentary elections, reports the Telegraph.

Despite the time that has passed, the candidates aiming for the post of prime minister remain the same.

Three of them have already made their candidacies official: Albin Kurti from LVV, Bedri Hamza from PDK and Lumir Abdixhiku from LDK, while Ramush Haradinaj is expected to run from AAK.

In the February 9 elections, LVV was ranked as the first party, PDK the second party, and LDK the third party.

Otherwise, the Central Election Commission has already begun preparations for holding extraordinary parliamentary elections.

The CEC has also announced that the application period for the registration of voters outside Kosovo to vote in the early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, which will be held on December 28, 2025, has begun.

The CEC has also decided to approve the budget plan for organizing early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, which will be held on December 28, 2025.

The planned and approved budget for these elections is: 11,493,526 Euros.

The initial cost planned and presented at the CEC meeting was 7,771,486 Euros.

The final value of the planned budget also includes the approval of the amendment proposed during the meeting that foresees the sending of ballot packages to the addresses of voters who will register to vote by mail. The approximate cost for sending ballot packages through the postal service is 3,722,040 and is calculated for approximately 84,000 potential voters.

Following the meeting, the CEC made a decision to approve the Voting Centers in which the voting process will take place in the early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, which will be held on December 28, 2025.

On election day, the voting process will take place in 948 Voting Centers, of which 910 centers for regular voting and 38 centers, one for each municipality, to enable conditional voting. /Telegraph/
