A map that I made based on data from the Dutch vehicle authority (RDW). The source for the data can be found here: https://opendata.rdw.nl/Voertuigen/Open-Data-RDW-Gekentekende_voertuigen/m9d7-ebf2/about_data
The map shows where every car that is registered in the Netherlands originates from. Each car brand is matched to the country in which that brand was founded, i.e. Toyota's are counted as Japanese and Audi's as German. Brands like Volvo are still counted as Swedish even though they are now Chinese owned for example.

Technically correct because it’s part of France, but it’s hilarious that it looks like the Dutch get cars from French Guyana.
The map colour doesnt match the legend colour very well, but the data is interesting
What about companies like Volvo? Who is now technically Chinese
You could make this extra nice if you did a bit of digging to find out if the further countries like japan and korea actually made the cars in japan and korea or if they used european hubs. I know my eu toyota was made.in France for example. Could give a breakdown of what percentage of the “japanese” cars are actually japanese?
The real question is where they get the caravans.
Skoda doing some heavy lifting!
Is this the country of the brand or countries where the cars are built?
