Gojira kicked off their French headlining run last night (November 27th) at Reims Arena, but the show came with a curveball: vocalist/guitarist Joe Duplantier performed with a hand injury, forcing the band to bring in Greg Kubacki of Car Bomb as a temporary guitarist.
Despite the lineup shake-up, Gojira didn’t play it safe. Instead of sticking to an easy, stripped-down set, the band rolled out multiple rarities and first-time performances.
First-time-ever performances:
- “Born In Winter” (L’Enfant Sauvage, 2012)
- “Global Warming” (From Mars To Sirius, 2005) — performed as the set closer
First time since 2017:
- “Wisdom Comes” (The Link, 2003)
Special medley:
A multi-song From Mars To Sirius medley featuring:
- “Where Dragons Dwell”
- “To Sirius”
- “Ocean Planet”
- “In The Wilderness”
The medley arrives just months after From Mars To Sirius celebrated its 20th anniversary on September 27th.
