Veterans and representatives of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) held tributes this Friday at the “Adem Jashari” Memorial Complex in Prekaz. Present was also the head of the KLA Veterans Organization (OVL-UÇK), Hysni Gucati, who spoke to the media.

He stated that these November holidays feel incomplete without the leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, who are being held under arrest in The Hague. Gucati extended his greetings for Albania’s Independence Day, emphasizing that he hopes next year to celebrate together with the KLA leaders.

“We congratulate you on the November holidays — the four celebrations that fall in this month: the 1944 holiday, the raising of the flag in Kruja by Skanderbeg, the declaration of Albania’s Independence in 1912, the birthday of the legendary commander Adem Jashari in 1955, and the appearance of the Kosovo Liberation Army on the scene. Once again, we congratulate all the citizens of Kosovo, the families of the martyrs, the war invalids, and the veterans on these November holidays.

These celebrations are incomplete because we have the KLA leaders being held there unjustly by a court, but this is what happened, and we hope and believe that next year we will celebrate these holidays together with them,” Gucati said.
