I think people aren't paying close enough attention to wetware and companies like Cortical Labs and the potential it has to get past limitations and roadblocks on the road to AGI.

Also the potential for remote human control to change how we help people become more physically adept at doing things faster.

What do you see going so far under the radar or unnoticed?

What potential developments do you see having a significant future impact on humanity that people aren't paying enough attention to?

  1. ‘Western US states fail to agree on plan to manage Colorado River before federal deadline’

‘State negotiators embroiled in an impasse over how to manage the imperiled [Colorado](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/colorado) River were unable to agree on a plan before a federally set deadline on Tuesday, thrusting deliberations deeper into uncertain territory.

Stakeholders have spent months working to iron out contentious disagreements over how to distribute water from this sprawling basin – which supplies roughly 40 million people in seven states, 5.5m acres (2.23m hectares) of farmland, dozens of tribes and parts of Mexico – as the resources grow increasingly scarce.’

  2. Psi is going to produce Nobel prizes and new industries in our lifetimes. There are already large scale research projects and even online communities for remote viewers to post their work in a verifiably blind format. My favorite of those is http://www.social-rv.com. Below is one of my most recent hits there.

Future forecasting that combines Psi with data-driven prediction models will be breakthrough technology in the private sector. Hedge funds, military applications, insurance speculation, this sort of tech will create huge advantages for so many industries.

  4. The near-term and ongoing movements in the price of gold and silver. Physical silver, a critical industrial metal, is in short supply and breaking out, while gold is being aggressively accumulated by central banks worldwide; often at the expense of U.S. Treasuries.

The global financial balance is shifting, and such transitions are seldom smooth.
