Finaaaaallyyyyyy ❤️❤️🎧❤️🎼😬

SWISS PETITION: Promoting consideration, respect, and a relaxed coexistence in public spaces.
• No loudspeaker phone calls on public transport or indoors (e.g., libraries, waiting areas, hospitals).
• Listen to music, videos, or games only with headphones — on silent or vibration mode.

Feel free to sign if you support it

EDIT: I’m aware that this petition probably won’t lead to a change in the Federal Constitution (and that this wouldn’t make much sense too). It would be more effective at the cantonal level anyway. Still, it’s a great catalyst for discussion and a good way to find supporters.

  1. This petition most likely won’t come through.
I’m autistic, too. The best way I’ve found to avoid noisy environments is to wear noise-canceling headphones.

  2. I agree, but an interdiction means a fine !How that would be put into effects ? The bus driver has other things to do than to stop the bus and give a fine to whoever isn’t respecting the code…Even in trains, where the workers sometime get already enough trouble for giving a fine to someone who didn’t buy their ticket, I doubt they would want to risk their own safety for that…

  3. There’s a limit to everything though. Once a guy was typing on his phone (normal typing volume), and this woman comes from the other side of the bus telling him to turn the typing sound off…

  4. I already do all of this, so I would support the initiative. Just 2 questions:

1.- How would this be enforced?
2.- What good is a goal of 200 signatures for?

Also your image attacks people just…talking? but the text in french on the petition only talks about calls and music? If I hadn’t read the proposal and only judged from the image and your post, I’d be opposing it.

  5. I almost never see that kind of behavior (Zurich area), though it’s quite common when I go to see family on the French side

I don’t understand people who play videos / music without headphones. It doesn’t even sound good and don’t people want some privacy?

I was stuck in a small train compartment from Zurich – Bern with this guy last weekend who had 20 different phone conversations and watched TikTok the entire time. This was even in first class…

I wanted to say something or move, but he looked super shady & moving all the things with me was just too inconvenient to only find the same issue in the next compartment.

I hope eventually this main character trend stops and there is public shaming. I get it late at night when a group of people are together having fun, but not just on a normal Sunday afternoon or especially during the morning commute.

  7. Woah that picture is exactly how it feels like. I mainly ride the first train of the day to work since a packed rush hour one would be too much. And yes it’s insanely stressful to maneuver train stations and public transportation without noise canceling headphones.

  8. Thank you, I find the lack of consideration for others seriously disturbing. In France or Japan, they have announcements asking people to not conduct phonecalls in the train wagons, and it’s much more comfortable there.

  9. Man coming back from japan really made me not enjoy taking öv here. Why can’t people just shut the fuck up once they enter a train, bus or tram. And if they wanna talk at least “whisper”.

Alle die hier geschrieben haben sie tragen kopfhörer sind das Problem der Gesellschaft.

Lieber kopfhörer tragen und nichts beitragen niemanden ermahnen was eigentlich AGB sind und alles ignorieren. Woho ales Opfer.

  11. I’m not bothered by the noise, I’m bothered by the confidence people have to live their loudest life at 8am in public.

This picture really captures the problem quite well. Besides the fact that it also considers a normal conversation to be annoying which it isn’t

The petition is a cute idea but I’m afraid it’s naive to trust that this could be implemented.
The train company, bus companies, public spaces in question would need much more how all these companies try to save money at the expense of their paying customers, it’s just highly unrealistic. I’m sorry…

What I do is that I always have headphones on; Problem solved and the ride has a great soundtrack at he same time.

  13. The People that blare whatever from their shitty phone speakers in public instead of putting on nice noise canceling headphones are the ones with the disability. This has to be some psychosocial disorder.

  14. I just signed. I am not autistic but all the unnecessary noise from phones or really loud conversations are just annoying af.

  15. No, but I‘m bothered by people not taking their backpacks off and generally using up way too much space. It‘s insanity, almost everyone only cares for their own convenience.

  16. RecognitionHefty on

So what happens after the 200 signatures? Will people be handed out free headphones in trains?

  17. LucaDarioBuetzberger on

If people really want to change things, they should have the guts to ask people nicrly to turn it down.
If one always complains in silence, it is also their fault.

  18. As a non-Swiss person who has been around the world, the noise on public transport has been very quiet. I realise this is subjective, but compared to places like England or Australia everyone seems quite polite. Is this not the case usually?

  19. Yes. I’m autistic as well with some sound sensitivity. It seems that more and more, people feel at liberty to just play their music or watch stuff or have phone calls on loudspeaker. I don’t understand the mentality.

Noise doesn’t bother me when it blends into ambient background noise, but if someone’s having a conversation within earshot, I can’t filter it out.

Even in train quiet compartments, some people just seem to be oblivious or don’t give a 💩. So I always cheer when the conductor comes along and tells them to either stop or change carriage.

  20. The same again, just ad the whole „do people not respect queues anymore?“ or „why do people not respect my personal space“ or the everlasting „why do people drive like crazy“

Like guys, its not that hard to realize where all of this is coming from – just like the loud, respectless people on trains
