«The Great Union of December 1st, 1918, was one of the most significant events in your country’s history. It marked the final stage of a long and thorny path to the establishment of a united independent state. Centuries-old dreams of a free land shared by all Romanians, where they could live and develop, became a reality,” the congratulation reads.

The Belarusian leader stated that thanks to fruitful work, patriotism and commitment to strong moral and family values, today’s Romania has taken its rightful place on the international stage. At the same time, the President added that it is crucial not to lose one’s own roots, identity and traditions in the face of modern globalisation, rapid change and uncertainty.

“Minsk highly appreciates the positive experience of co-operation with Bucharest, accumulated through joint efforts. Belarusians are open to further unleash the significant potential of bilateral relations and are convinced that a lasting peace and a happy future can only be built only on the foundations of mutual respect and meaningful dialogue,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

The President of Belarus wished the people of Romania prosperity, happiness and harmony.
