Pilsudski was a true friend of the Romanian people. In the 1930s, he became the honorific commander of the 16th Regiment of the Romanian Land Forces. Its successor, the 634th Infantry Battalion, [was named after Pilsudski in 2020](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/634th_Infantry_Battalion_(Romania))
