Cushman & Wakefield Spain has appointed experienced executive Álvaro Alonso to lead Its Living And Corporate Finance Division.
The appointment supports the firm’s global growth plans and reinforces its commitment to the development of the Living sector in the Spanish market.
With more than 20 years of experience, Alonso brings solid expertise in financial and strategic advisory services in the real estate sector, specialising in M&A transactions, direct investment, financing and special situations. He joins as an International Partner and member of the Board in Spain. He will lead the team responsible for recent transactions such as the acquisition by Ardian and Rockfield of a student residence in Barcelona’s 22@ district, and advising on the creation of a joint venture through which Germany’s ECE Work & Live entered the Spanish residential market for the first time alongside Layetana Living to develop housing.
Álvaro’s arrival will allow us to execute an ambitious growth plan to cover all areas of such a broad sector.
He joins from EY, where he was a partner in the Strategy and Transactions area, responsible for M&A services in the financial sector, where he led various processes involving the sale of assets and real estate debt worth more than £400 million. Before joining EY, he had a long career at Colliers International, where his last position was Managing Partner of Corporate Finance and he was a member of the Management Committee for Spain. In this role, he promoted capital markets operations, joint ventures, structured sales and strategic valuations.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Living teams operate in the Built to Rent, rental housing, student accommodation, senior living and general residential and land markets, providing a wide range of capital markets, valuation and advisory, consultancy and development services. Drawing on advanced data and analytical tools, proprietary research and insights, and deep market knowledge, they offer advice, transactions and comprehensive solutions to investors, developers, operators, landowners and local authorities.
