Good, any donations to political parties or political figures must be traceable to their origin and within the agreed limits.

While they’re at it, go after the so-called think tanks that advise government and make them have to disclose their financing.

  2. I expect Man of the People Nigel ‘one rotten apple’ Farage to be fully insupport of this, given the absolute transparency his private Ltd company has had over their donations.

  3. I am a massive Bitcoiner and even I agree with this. If anything the problem of money in politics is already half of the reason I believe it should be completely out of the hands of the state.

But any political donation should be “bare” because we need to know who is paying our representative.

    This should not be controversial.

  4. Isn’t this already covered by existing regulation?

Donor identification is mandatory, KYC means exchanges need to know the identity of their customers, there’s a shitload of anti-laundering regulation, and it being crypto will also allow you to track that money back to its source. Someone can’t just anonymously donate 50k and a political party instantly be free to use it.

They’re worried about crypto but not about those post miniestrial finance, quango and ngo speaking gigs they get for shoddy and shady things done while in power

  6. They might be anonymously saved in cold storage, so how exactly can they get banned? Probably will only be cashed out 20 odd years later in a tax haven.

  7. This feels overdue. That bitcoin is untraceable alone makes for very shady donations that can be hidden.

  8. It’s so funny that for a while people were trying to make crypto like, some shit you can buy a coffee with. It’s just for buying drugs off the internet, freeing hostages, and most dodgy of all, donating to Nigel Farage.
