The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, commemorated Ibrahim Rugova on the 81st anniversary of his birth.
In a Facebook post, Osmani stated that Rugova was the voice of reason and determination during dark times, as well as a guiding figure toward freedom and independence.
Among other things, Osmani said that the historic president remains a lasting inspiration, a symbol of resilience, and of the great dream for a free, independent, and democratic Kosovo.
“Born 81 years ago, the architect of independence, the historic President Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, was the voice of reason and determination in dark times, as well as a guide toward freedom and independence.
With his wisdom, political culture, and farsighted vision, President Rugova raised the Kosovo issue to the highest levels of global diplomacy.
He remains a lasting inspiration, a symbol of resilience, and of the great dream for a free, independent, and democratic Kosovo.
The legacy of the President is a testament to peace, to the sovereign state, and to its integration into the Euro-Atlantic family. Glory to the life, work, and ideals of the historic President,” Osmani wrote.
