Members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the ranks of the Serb people did not participate on Tuesday in the ceremonial academy on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Day of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was held at the House of the Armed Forces in Sarajevo.
And as confirmed for Klix.ba, reports the Telegraph, the reason for their absence was the presence of delegations from the A-5 conference, specifically representatives of Kosovo.
According to the media outlet in question, Chief of the Joint Staff Gojko Knežević, as well as Deputy Minister of Defense Aleksandar Goganović, did not attend the ceremony.
In the official part of the program, the Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zukan Helez, said that “20 years of existence of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina represent the best example of successful reforms after Dayton and proof that a common state can function when strengthening institutions is a common goal.”
“This is a story about courage, responsibility and faith in a common future,” said Helez, thanking NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, EUFOR and international partners for their support in the modernization and development of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
While Denis Beçirović, member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, addressed the attendees and emphasized that the two-decade development of the Armed Forces built their credibility both domestically and on the international stage. /Telegraph/
