Really disgusting disparaging of a charity who does great work here and abroad. In the UK, in one year they distributed over 16,400 food packs, supporting 79,412 Brits. GB News should hang their heads in shame.

Why it was a substantial payment –
1) The presenter at the time didn’t shut the contributor down and apologise, or ask them to back up such a wild claim.
2) They monetised the clip across their social platforms.
Open and shut case. Piss poor host on a lax standards channel that allows nutty people to say nutty things. And guess who else had to apologise about this? The Daily Mail as it wrote a news article about it just after it’s tx promoting the lie.
It isn’t a news channel, it’s hate monetisation propaganda.
Edit: Islamic Relief also sidestepped using OFCOM for redress and went straight to court, that’s how slam dunk of a case this was.

Why should they pay the damages them they telling truth
Our charity gets yearly donations from IR and we are able to distribute this to hundreds of families in the West Mids area. All of them are amazing people, I hope the pay out was MASSIVE.
I wonder if they’ll air an apology and someone from GB News will resign, like they bayed for someone from the BBC to resign? Unlikely. That’s the difference between an “entertainment channel” (GB News) and an actual News Channel like the BBC.
