Two of Kosovo’s most beloved monuments have today taken on a new space to tell the world their story: in the form of postage stamps.
The Kosovo Post has launched the new philatelic issue “Clock Towers”, including the Clock Tower of Pristina and the Clock Tower of Gjakova, two of the symbols that have given rhythm to urban life for centuries.
With this edition, the Philately sector aims not only to enrich the collections of philatelists, but also to bring attention back to the values โโof our architectural heritage โ to those monuments that we often see every day, but rarely stop to appreciate.
The Pristina Clock Tower, built next to the King’s Mosque, remains one of the most recognizable historical landmarks of the capital. Once it was the city’s timekeeper; today it is a testament to a Pristina that has gone through different eras, but has preserved its old heart.
On the other hand, the Clock Tower of Gjakova, located in the heart of the Grand Bazaar, is an inseparable part of the city’s cultural identity. It has defied time and historical events, remaining one of the most beloved monuments for Gjakova residents and visitors.
Placing these two towers on postage stamps gives them a new life โ a way to travel abroad, to show the history and art of Kosovo in every shipment that leaves our country.
Kosovo Post invites citizens, collectors and businesses to use these new stamps as a simple, yet meaningful way to support and promote the country’s cultural heritage. /Telegraph/
