And it won’t change unless they actually start coming out to vote and prove they’re a demographic worth targeting.

  2. It would be slightly better if you’d let us at least fap without needing to show ID (or a vpn)

And it has been for at least the last 17 years. This isn’t news to those of us that have been adults through recession after crisis, after pandemic, etc.

  4. Prices are high, costs are high, wages are low and the answer to everything these days seems to be either AI or fascism. Things will get better, they will change but it seems like it will be an uphill battle

It’s almost like successive government has actively made it harder for future generations rather than easier.

Sold off most all of the social housing, put up red tape to slow down additional social housing being built, the lack of affordable housing means house prices skyrocketed along with Rents. Privatised water companies which saw mass closures of reservoirs, the priviastion of BT which saw us lacking behind both Europe and the Americans in internet speeds for the late 2000s and most of the 2010s. Privitised the rail networks which means it’s cheaper to fly around the country than it is to get the train to go see friends or go to events. Privitised Gas and Electricity firms which has lead to the highest bills in the West because OfGem allows the private companies to charge us the price point for Coal Gas and Oil when that only makes up 20% of most companies mixes.

NHS flooded with people who don’t need to be there and can self medicate means A&E wait times are horrific and can’t get a GP appointment (See the NHS report in which over 100,000 people went to A&E for sore throats and nearly 350 people went because of Hiccups) and some of the worst job prospects in the western world because if you don’t live in a city your oppourtunities are watered down to Retail, Warehousing or Call Center (Assuming the clients for the call centers don’t shift your role over to Poland, India or South Africa)

So yes, life is shit for young people i don’t actively blame any young person for not having the “Pride” to fight for their country should WW3 errupt.

  6. Ok, so scrap winter fuel payments and provide young people student loan relief with the savings!

I mean we’re starting to cross the point where young peoples lives essentially on permanent hold. They can never save up enough to settle down, and jobs aren’t secure enough to settle down any way.

No surprise that birthrates are going through the floor

Not great for everyone else either. Maybe if you chaps didn’t tax everything you could think lf

That’s an understatement, the budgets have made finding work insanely difficult. And this is coming from someone with more than 8 years experience. I dread to feel what graduates are going through. And don’t even get me started on stagnant pay and house prices.

No retirement and reduce childbirth rates will a very real situation

  10. *”Life is shit for young people – future voters – which is why we refused to cut the Triple Lock and free up public finances to spend on making their lives easier, because woe betide anyone who loses the pensioner vote.”*

Following it up he explained that the government still has plans to make it worse though.

Was he meant to say that ‘life is sh**t for everyone who isn’t rich’…..??

  13. This Guy’s a seriously shady character, he hired private investigators to dig up dirt on a journalist for uncovering the fact that a group he was a part of lied and broke the law in failing to disclose sources of campaign finances when campaigning for starmer to become labour party leader. https://www.thecanary.co/skwawkbox/2025/09/28/paul-holden-labour-together/

  14. I’m 37, when has it not been shit? I feel like I’m in the exact same position I was when I left uni 10+ years ago despite working basically that entire time.

I understand there are lots of people out there making good money, but for the majority of people that are just working regular paying jobs, it’s literally impossible to save any money unless you want to live like a complete hermit.

I don’t live an extravagant lifestyle, I have a few pints at the weekend and the occasional takeaway – I haven’t been able to afford a holiday in over 5 years. I wear a lot of the same clothes I’ve had for over a decade. I’d love a new computer, I’d love to refresh my flat a bit, I’d love to be able to save some money for the future – but everything just costs so fucking much. I’m lucky if I have a £100 in my bank at the end of the month and god help me if something that I actually need breaks.

And I feel fortunate compared to a lot of my peers. It’s dire out there.

  15. Yes. 90% are screaming tax the rich and all that happens is freeze income tax thresholds…
So the takeaway is to define everyone as ‘rich’… klcant make that up.
