“Last night, Russians conducted a massive combined strike on Poltava region using missiles and UAVs. Several energy-sector enterprises in the Kremenchuk district came under attack,” Kohut said.
According to him, direct hits and falling debris ignited fires and damaged technical equipment. Debris from an enemy drone also struck an outbuilding at a private residence. No casualties were reported.
“The attack caused disruptions to heating and water supply in several areas of the community. All emergency services are working to eliminate the consequences,” he added.
Earlier, Kremenchuk Mayor Vitalii Maletskyi said the city had also come under a large-scale combined strike targeting civilian infrastructure.
The attack on Poltava was part of a broader overnight assault across Ukraine. According to the Air Force, from 18:00 on Dec. 6 until the morning of Dec. 7, radar units detected and tracked 246 aerial targets, including 241 strike drones of various Shahed-type and other modifications launched from Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and occupied Crimea.
