SR (57) from Bosnia and Herzegovina and AH (25) from Croatia were arrested on suspicion of stealing money and payment cards from several foreign citizens in Kotor, the Police Directorate (PD) announced today.

The statement states that SR and AH were arrested by Kotor police officers in cooperation with their Budva colleagues, and that they are suspected of the crime of aggravated theft.

“Namely, SR (57) from Bosnia and Herzegovina and AH (25) from the Republic of Croatia were deprived of their liberty. They are suspected of having stolen money and payment cards from several people, which was reported to the officers of the Kotor Security Department by the injured foreign citizens who were staying in Kotor. Police officers undertook a series of activities within their jurisdiction in order to shed light on these acts and identified SR and AH as the perpetrators. Through further field work, in cooperation with officers of the Budva Security Department, they were located in that city, where they are suspected of having been staying and where, based on an order from the competent court, a search of the apartment and other premises they were using was carried out,” the statement states.

The Police Department added that during the search, police found and seized 2.950 US dollars, 100 euros, 2.000 Serbian dinars, 60 convertible marks, 120 Singapore dollars, 215.000 Indonesian rupiah, 70 Brazilian reais, 20 Chinese yuan and 50.000 Philippine pesos, and it is suspected that the suspects stole this money from foreign tourists in the old town of Kotor.
