Barcelona got their fourth consecutive win across all competitions, comfortably defeating Andorra 102-71 in Round 9 of the Liga Endesa.
Barcelona came into the game high on confidence after defeating Crvena zvezda on the road in Round 14 of the EuroLeague and were looking to continue that momentum at home, against an Andorra team struggling to find form with a 3-6 record in the Liga Endesa.
It was a tough, low scoring first half where Barcelona didn’t have a large lead, going into halftime only up 38-30. Andorra was hanging in against the Spanish giants through the great playmaking of guard Shannon Evans.
However, in the second half, Barcelona increased the pace drastically in offense, which was a drastic difference from the last three wins they had, looking for faster shots and being more aggressive from three-point range. The decision paid off, with Kevin Punter and Will Clyburn decimating the Andorra defense from the perimeter to increase the lead to 22 points by the end of the third.
But what should be mentioned is that the real story was the consistently flawless performance of forward Joel Parra, who not only had a career high in scoring with 24 points, but also did not miss a shot from the field, shooting a perfect 9-9 while also grabbing nine rebounds himself to lead Barcelona to a comfortable win, improving the record of Xavi Pascual‘s side to a positive 5-4 in the Liga Endesa. Along with Parra, Kevin Punter added 20 points with four assists, while Shannon Evans had 12 points and seven assists for Andorra

Andorra’s next game will be against Zaragoza in Round 10 of the Liga Endesa, and the game is scheduled to be played on December 13th. Meanwhile, Barcelona’s next game will be in the EuroLeague, at home against Olympiacos on December 12th in Round 15.
