Rainfall will be mostly confined to the north and north-west, while the south is expected to see extended sunny periods and calm weather.

Snow cover in mountain ranges such as the Vosges, Jura and Massif Central is projected to shrink significantly as warm air persists.

Today’s weather features low cloud lingering over southern regions, while the north-west continues to see rain.

In contrast, the south-west may reach temperatures as high as 22°C – an unusually warm level for early December.

On Wednesday, rain is expected to return to northern areas, while clearer skies develop across the east and south-east.

The very mild pattern will continue into Thursday, with cloud cover holding over the north and increasing in the south before another band of rain reaches Brittany overnight.

By Friday, showers are likely near the Mediterranean and across the north-west.

However, most other regions are expected to end the week with sunny conditions and afternoon temperatures ranging between 12°C and 16°C.
