    How on Earth can we **fly** to Copenhanguen for less than the **subsidy** of a train ticket?!

    Good. People should get that a nighttrain is something for idealists and not a serious form of transportation to transport a large amount of people over long distances. The nighttrain is even slower than going by car.

  4. Makes sense, if you want people to fly less, internalise their external costs, i.e. introduce a tax on flights that covers their environmental costs.

    Subsidising night trains, one of the most inefficient way of travelling because the carriages can only get used for one trip per day, with 200 Fr. per passenger is plain stupid. I think a lot of people have a clouded and romantic image of night trains here.
