For people who aren’t aware. These are leasehold with small value rent that doesn’t go up. It’s common in various areas. This isn’t like the more recent situation where there is baked in rises and clauses allowing.
Basic conman stuff.

I’ve had the displeasure of dealing with this twat in a professional capacity. He’s a serial grifter. Before this he was in the business of taking out peer-to-peer loans, pawning things etc. and then making baseless and spurious claims of FCA rule breaches to try and extort compensation and assert that the loans were unenforceable. I can’t wait for the day when he gets his comeuppance.

The article is well worth a read. It gets progressively more bizarre the further you scroll.

There’s not much point pointing out that the guy is odious. The real question is why it is still lawful for the leaseholds to be auctioned off in that fashion when the Government should be bringing them to an end. Surely residents should have first right of refusal.
Private Eye have been reporting on this guy for a while. Good to see more outlets picking it up.

If he did this to me, I would go to London, find him and beat seven kinds of shit out of him, maybe the bully would understand that.

Wow. I remember their last article which clearly showed what a disgusting man he was, but this new info makes him sound unhinged. How is it taking this long to take him down?

In a similar boat, my leasehold got bought out from the old lady who owned it, by Compton Group. Proper scumbags sending all sorts of letters demanding various things, including that I must use them as a brokerage for my home insurance, else they’ll remove me from my house, all that kind of nonsense. I basically replied with the long form version of “no”, but I can’t imagine how much it would scare people, especially given that a lot of my neighbours are elderly.

Fucker sent letters to a couple we know in Sheffield after he bought theirs and others leases. They paid him £25k . Odious cunt.

The Sheffield Tribune has done a lot of work on him too. He has a very wide net and was charging some people £25k
