The Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC) participated in the anniversary events marking 60 years since the founding of the European Shipowners (ES|ECSA), held on 9–10 December 2025 in Brussels.

The impressive events brought together the European Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Apostolos Tzitzikostas, senior officials of the European Commission, Members of the European Parliament, representatives of international shipping organisations, social partners and leading figures of the European and international shipping community. As part of the celebrations, the conference “60 Years of Being the Voice of European Shipping” took place, during which the Chamber’s Vice-President and Immediate Past President of ES|ECSA, Mr. Philippos Philis, participated in a panel discussion alongside former and current Presidents of the Association.

The highly successful events highlighted the vital role of European Shipping, not only as a driving force of the economy, but also as a pillar of security, energy adequacy, resilient supply chains and food security for Europe.

The Chamber warmly congratulates the European Shipowners on this significant 60-year milestone and reaffirms its commitment to continue contributing actively to shaping policies for a competitive, sustainable and resilient European Shipping Industry.
