When you search for restaurants on most map apps, you get:

  • Sponsored pins
  • Random ordering
  • Endless scrolling with no sense of actual popularity

So I visualized an alternative:
All restaurants in a fixed radius, ranked purely by popularity (review volume + engagement).

The difference is immediate: (and thats the Beauty Of Data)

  • The top 10 becomes obvious
  • Noise disappears
  • Decisions take seconds, not minutes

Surprising how something this basic still doesn’t exist in mainstream map apps.

  1. But then how do you get restaurants to pay you to be shown more often to people looking at your map?
