Oh no, I remember a major argument against FM was that it uses more energy and is thus not sustainable. When I read that, it was quite obvious to me that SRG has no clue what they are doing…

Why don‘t we go back to copper cables for internet as well? Or even horses instead of cars?

I could care less, but not a lot.. at home all is dab or internet based. Car has DAB too. Reception is great everywhere i go. Only from an emergency preparedness point of view FM works better

This was destined to fail from the beginning on. People are lazy cheapskates, they are not going to spend time and money to upgrade to DAB+ if they can just switch to the private senders.
So we should have turned both private and public off at the same time, so people are forced to upgrade to DAB+.
