Whats the cost of a state placement for the same SEND student? Hard to judge without knowing that.

I can see it becoming an issue though, the number of SEND students relative to the none-SEND is rapidly increasing so might be worth councils becoming more proactive in setting up facilities rather than relying on private insitutions.

  2. The whole system is a joke 100K per pupil, and the LA can’t hold these grifters to account in the same way they can a state school

You also can’t ask a tribunal court to name a private school unless they agree

Finally, there are no rules that say any of the aresholes running these places need to be qualified in any aspects of SEND.

Had my son at one for 3 years and they ruined him, and I will ruin them if it’s the last thing I do

Seems reasonable to me. Id expect it’s a lot of work to try and educate those kids while not interfering with everyone else’s education.

It’s the council/governments fault for paying it. Surely there’s an upper limit on what educating someone with additional needs is worth to the tax paying public. And I know it’s education, it’s priceless you can’t put a price on education yada yada but what is the ROI on this expenditure?

  5. Im a send student and the council pays around 50,000 for where i go yet ny teachers get paid the same amount if not less then they would in a regular school the rest of the money goes straight to the organisation above who owns the school and others like it

  6. Time to expand state provision – surely possible if they’re spending this kind of money privately.

So all this money goes on kids with special needs. How much is going on the kids who might actually do well and make something of themselves and contribute to society? Probably not a lot.
