Sadly, these measures are needed. I would prefer more preventative measures to ensure these attacks can’t happen.

  2. Going to be hoards of nutjobs looking for revenge for Gaza all over the world. Entirely predictable.

  3. Not a single mention of who did it or why it keeps happening by the Guardian?

Just one of those tragic events, could have happened to anyone I guess? Thoughts and prayers.

  4. Ahmed Al Ahmed is a fucking hero for what he did, we all wish we could be as brave as to stop an armed terrorist, but it’s a very different kettle of fish to actually do it.

Edit: I shouldn’t have been as confrontational as I was in the comment that I had posted before, so I thought I’d redo it.

  5. Nick Robinson’s post on twitter about this seemed particularly tone deaf…

*”It is a reminder – if one was needed – that Jews all over the world now live in fear.
If you struggle to understand that fear – you may not have any Jewish family or friends as it is a very small community – I urge you to think of the impact on the Muslim and, indeed, the wider community of the Christchurch mosque attack in New Zealand. Tonight Jews everywhere will light candles to mark the start of the festival of lights – Hanukkah. Few will feel able to “*

Why did he feel the need to randomly bring up an event, in a different country, from over 6 years ago that had nothing to do with Jewish people.

It’s like that old Norm Macdonald joke… “What terrifies me is if ISIS were to detonate a nuclear device and kill 50 million Americans. Imagine the backlash against peaceful Muslims?”

I applaud the Police for the coordinated work they do with CST (UK Jewish security charity) and I’m equally saddened for it’s need.

The next big ‘public’ Jewish festival is Purim, in March, and I hope that that is highly policed.
