AURORA | Aurora police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man accused of robbing employees at gunpoint at a northwest Aurora business at last month.
The robbery occurred about 6:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at an undisclosed business in the 1400 block of Iola Street, Aurora police spokesperson Joe Moylan said in a statement. Investigators said a man entered the business, and threatened employees with a silver revolver, demanding cash from registers.
The man then left the store on foot and was last seen walking north toward East Colfax Avenue, police said.
Investigators described the suspect as a Latino man about 45 years old with a heavy build and a gray mustache. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a blue beanie, sunglasses, a black hoodie, blue pants, one black glove and one gray glove, and carrying a black Nike backpack.
Investigators said they believe the suspect frequents the area around East Colfax Avenue and Havana Street. Detectives have spoken with several people in the area who are familiar with the suspect but do not know his name, police said.
Anyone with information about the man, including his identity or whereabouts, is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). Tips can be made anonymously, and tipsters may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
