41 years ago today, PKK murdered 3 civilians in Sığırlı hamlet. All civilians were Kurds.

On December 15, 1984, 3 civilians lost their lives as a result of an attack by PKK terrorists in the Sığırlı hamlet of Erkent village in Pervari district of Siirt.

Sait Şener, who lost his father Raşit Şener in the massacre:

"It was December last year. My father used to help the state. He went to the police station that day and returned at night. The house was crowded, the women were sitting in the other room, and my father was telling what he talked about at the police station. The door opened, this Mustafa Çimen came in. He had a keleş (Kalashnikov) in his hand. He said, ‘The weather is cold, light a stove for us.’ There was another person at the door. The third was waiting outside. Mustafa Çimen made buckles one by one, shook hands like this, and when it was my father’s turn, he said, ‘Are you Raşit Ağa?’ When my father reached out for the buckle and said, “It’s mine,” he straightened the strap and scanned my father. My uncle immediately said, ‘Don’t miss it, hold the dog…’ My brother grabbed him from behind and we jumped on him. He couldn’t escape, we pulled the knife, shot him, pulled him and shot him. He called out to the person in front of the door and said, ‘They shot me, scan everyone, including me.’ We saw what was going on outside, the lamp went out, and we said, ‘Lie down on the ground.’ Babies and women were screaming inside, but when I scanned them, they fell silent. The one at the door said to the one outside, ‘Okay, let’s run away’ and they ran away. We turned on the lamp and saw that Mustafa Çimen was not there either. My father is dead. His uncle İbrahim Sayın died, my nephew Hüseyin Şener died. Do you know how the wall came to be? It’s full of holes… the one who scanned it from outside killed 2 people."

"We have a house two down. It looks like he’s hiding in his barn. He also left a bomb at the door. The soldiers opened fire and entered, finding the gang member unconscious. We couldn’t find any trace of the others, they took them away."

Mustafa Çimen was found injured and unconscious in a barn belonging to the village by military elements who arrived in the region. Fatma Kılıç, the sister of İbrahim Sayın, the mother of Reşit Şener, who lost his life in the massacre, and the grandmother of Hüseyin Şener, tried to crush the head of Mustafa Çimen, who was caught unconscious in the barn, with a stone.

Mukhtar Abdi Aras:

"When Mustafa Çimen was caught injured and unconscious in the barn, Fatma woman grabbed the stone from the ground and ran to the barn, saying, ‘Let me kill him, let me behead him!’ But the commander did not let go, they took the stone from his hand. Now we waited for the state to hang it. The man said, ‘I regret it.’ said the one who was saved from execution. Maybe you know, does this law say so? This man did not surrender so we caught him. Shouldn’t this be hung?"

Mustafa Çimen, who was requested to be executed 6 times, applied to the court to benefit from the Repentance Law and the Social Reintegration Law, which were implemented for the first time; This application was accepted by the court and the suspect was sentenced to 24 years of heavy imprisonment. Mustafa Çimen, who was reported to be Mahsum Korkmaz’s political and military assistant, was released in 1990 and was killed by PKK militants in the same year.
