Year of Compassion Initiative Brings Environmental Clean-Up to Copenhagen, Denmark
Copenhagen: In celebration of the Year of Compassion, observed in honour of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s birth year, an environmental cleaning activity was successfully organised on the main streets of Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, and in the surrounding areas. The initiative focused on collecting rubbish and promoting environmental responsibility among the public.
Despite the cold weather, members of the organising committee, along with Tibetans and friends and supporters, participated with great enthusiasm. Their collective efforts resulted in a successful clean-up, leaving the area noticeably cleaner and demonstrating a strong spirit of cooperation and civic responsibility.
The organisers stated that this modest yet meaningful activity aimed to embody the values of compassion through action. They expressed confidence that the initiative helped inspire others and set a positive example for environmental protection, reinforcing the message of the Year of Compassion through practical community service.
