Banque de Luxembourg has appointed Livia Moretti as its new chief executive officer, the private bank announced Monday.

Moretti will take up her new post on 15 March next year, succeeding Pierre Ahlborn, who has headed Banque de Luxembourg since 2000 and is retiring after almost four decades with the bank.

Moretti previously worked at Luxembourg’s financial regulator, the CSSF, and the European Central Bank in Frankfurt.

In 2023, she joined the Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale group, a shareholder of Banque de Luxembourg, when she became CEO of another bank within the group, Banque CIC Suisse, based in Basel.
