After falling slightly in September, Italy’s public debt rose again in October, climbing to 3.1317 trillion euros, an increase of 50.7 billion with respect to the previous month, the Bank of Italy said on Monday.
The central bank said the rise was primarily down to an increase in the Treasury’s liquid assets of 31.8 billion to 77.2 billion and a upturn in the government’s borrowing requirement of 18.8 billion.
