  1. I’d say right now is a really good time to set up a small operation of a couple of people making many many miles of fibre optic cable a day from a small industrial unit. You’ll get an incredible government contract

  2. Hadn’t heard about this scheme but this is exactly what we need to be doing. Really great more here.

    >Defence Secretary John Healey told the House of Commons that more than a third of the £400 million annual budget for UK Defence Innovation will be spent on developing and deploying drone capabilities to protect the UK and its allies, citing increasing Russian drone activity and wider hostile state behaviour.

    >UK Defence Innovation, launched in July, is designed to accelerate new technology into the Armed Forces while backing British industry, universities and high-growth small firms.

    >.. The funding will be directed at British small and medium-sized enterprises, micro-SMEs and universities, reflecting the Government’s push to spread defence spending beyond prime contractors and into the wider technology ecosystem.

Made me laugh, the cost of one Russian submarine “Defence Secretary John Healey told the House of Commons that more than a third of the £400 million annual budget”. Does anyone really think that we stand any chance at all!
As with Dad’s Army, our soldiers will be armed with broomsticks and pitchforks! Laughable!

140 million just covers the consulting and management. It won’t cover any significant R&D i to actual drone technology.

The usual half naked approach from British politicians if they feel we need to do something

  5. Seriously, I have Anti-Russian and Anti-Chinese fatigue now.

All spread across Western platforms are propaganda after propaganda. A few years ago, Russia was on the verge of losing its military to Ukraine and that they were gonna lose. Forces decimated by Ukraine, Putin’s legacy was all over. Same for the same type of shit about China too.

But at the same time, apparently these weaklings are gonna start wars and that everyone must be weary. Which is it? Is Russia weak or are they strong? make up your fucking mind.

  6. This is an absolutely bizarre comment section, full of people seemingly urging the government to do sweet fuck all about an aggressive geopolitical enemy who (lest we forget) absolutely *hate* us: super odd stuff.

  7. As the war machine keeps turning. Geezer Butler’s writing still rings true over half a century later.
