Starhotels has added Collina d’Oro Resort and SPA to its luxury portfolio, marking the brand’s debut in Switzerland. The refined five-star property, located in a natural oasis just minutes from Lugano, joins the collection through a commercial agreement, further strengthening Starhotels’ presence in the international luxury hospitality market.
A true signature retreat, Collina d’Oro Resort spans over 25 hectares of natural park, among sun-kissed hills, dense woods, and a horizon embracing the Alps and the lake. Its mild, luminous microclimate once captivated Nobel Prize-winning author Hermann Hesse, who found inspiration here and spent his final years in this enchanting setting.

The property features 44 rooms, including 28 suites, all bathed in natural light streaming through large windows that harmonize with interiors of understated, sophisticated design. Completing the experience is a 1,000-square-meter SPA, a fitness area, and a restaurant celebrating Mediterranean cuisine with contemporary flair.

Under the agreement, Starhotels will support the resort across sales, marketing and communication, revenue management strategies, and system integration, including the I AM STAR loyalty programme. Collina d’Oro Resort & SPA will retain its identity and operational autonomy while fully aligning with Starhotels Collezione brand standards.
The partnership has already been formalised, with Collina d’Oro Resort & SPA officially joining Starhotels Collezione on November 22, further enriching the collection with a destination dedicated to wellness, nature and refined living.
