Boxing and strength training brand UBX is entering a new phase of expansion, spearheaded by Fight Path Ltd, which has just acquired the Master Franchise rights across the U.K. and Ireland.
UBX (pronounced “You-Box”) already claims nine gyms across the U.K. and Ireland: four in London, and others in Sheffield, Bath, Alderley and Stepaside in Dublin, with plans to open a tenth location in Hammersmith in February 2026.
Fight Path is aiming to sign four more franchisees by the end of 2026, with a goal of opening 10 new gyms next year. Its five-year plan is even more ambitious, as the brand hopes to grow the UBX network to 40 to 50 gyms across the U.K. and Ireland, Fight Path confirmed to Athletech News.
Behind the acquisition are two established franchise owners of the Australian boutique gym brand, David Herman and Andre Hordagoda.
“It’s an incredibly exciting time for UBX as we continue to redefine the fitness landscape,” Herman said.

“Our expansion reflects not only UBX’s global momentum, which spans four continents, but also our firm commitment to building healthier, stronger communities and creating new opportunities for both members and franchisees,” Herman added. “This milestone is just the beginning; there’s a lot more exciting things to come for UBX as we unleash a new movement into the boxing and fitness industry.”
UBX is a fast-growing boutique gym, offering a mix of boxing and strength training in a flexible format without class timetables and bookings. Its classes combine boxing skills and drills with high-intensity cardio, explosive movements and functional strength training within a coach-led 12-round circuit.
“Using our unique blend of technology, sports science, and exceptional coaches, we empower our members to progress to their best, regardless of their fitness level, in a safe and non-judgmental environment,” added Hordagoda. “Simply turn up at one of our gyms, and we’ll handle the rest.”
UBX continues to expand its global presence, opening its first gym in the UAE earlier this year.
Keeping up the momentum behind its growing popularity, its U.K. locations also hopped on the hybrid racing trend, recently adding Hyrox Training Clubs designed to replicate race-day conditions with workouts tailored to the challenges participants will face.
