This could mean that the US is not approving as much visas as before rather than disinterest in visiting the US

It would be interesting to overlay this data with change in US visa denials. Then we can meaningfully tell if the country is turning their back on US or if US is not letting them in.Â

We in Latin America actually have an increase of USA people, man, it’s not even the classic digital nomads or “expats”, we are having people looking for permanent residency.

Is the international trade administration a US agency that does need to distort its data to avoid upsetting Trump?

Keep in mind this was _before_ the most recent changes to entry requirements will have been enacted.
Expect all of these numbers to crater

Yet we hear very little of the impact on the US tourist / hospitality industry?… It must be devastated?

I wish that they broke up the 10%-29% group. That’s a big gap between each end. I would like to have a more accurate number for Canada, other than… 10%-29%.. That doesn’t really tell me too much.

For the past year, I was low-key hoping that the decline in US tourism numbers, increased fuel and food costs, and the average American having less disposable income to spend, would mean tourist spots wouldn’t be as busy. I was looking forward to not having to deal with crowds.
Nope. Every place our family went to during the summer was ridiculously packed, with lines of people everywhere. Not since pre-COVID have I seen Cedar Point as crowded as it was when we went in August.

Traveling overseas has gone down across the board, not just the US. I’d love to see an apples to apples comparison.
