  1. > He said in the video that he had travelled to Ukraine to join the International Legion which paid him $400-500 a month

Wow I thought it would be a lot more than that, that’s no way near enough to risk dying in a ditch whilst hiding from drones in a foreign war.

  2. My brother was “killed” by firing squad 4 times when the Russians held him captive, then traded him back at the first opportunity.

I hope this guy gets to come home soon as well, but with how barbaric the Russians are, I can’t imagine hell be untouched.

  3. Sadly he’s a terrorist or insurgent in a Russian court of law.dont play toy soldier. War is not a game.

  4. I mean if you’re foreign and you join a war and get captured then going to jail seems reasonable.

  5. Hero. Was reading this and Elgar’s Nimrod came on. Hope he doesn’t suffer too much. Few people get to truly do something genuinely noble in this world. He’s someone who has done that, whatever happens next.

It’s probably tit for tat justice by the Russians. The UK is their favourite hate totem. And the legal eagles in London have been after a few of theirs for the odd murder. It’s tougher for him than it would be for a Russian held by UK, unfortunately.
