I’m from NI and I made a few Friends in Germany.
I wanted to send them some stuff for Christmas which I posted 2 small parcels on the 3rd December.
1 of those parcels has been received but the other one has had weird tracking and as of today, it changed to say it will be returned?
My friend didn’t get the parcel so she didn’t refuse it? Is there any chance this could be a mistake?

I suspect you’ve fallen afowl of the PUL community boogie man, the Windsor Protocol. Looking at the 9:20 update on the 16th it says you didn’t have sufficient documentation to export. So the question is, what was in the parcel to flag that. I assume you’ve included some food stuff, just remember if you send anything with a “not for EU” label on it, that would get caught.
Looks like it might’ve been the customs documents? Perhaps something was missed off or the system made a mistake with it. Worth contacting them for more info.
Never had this happen. Worst I’ve had is a Christmas card held by the zoll for 2 weeks a couple of years ago.
Edit: Could also be the contents since the rules changed on foods etc. you can send into the EU now.
UK is not EU anymore…. You are trying exporting goods to the European Union like anyone fom somewhere.
So you need to add customs declaration, which you seemingly didn’t. So the parcel got halted at the customs center in Germany (Niederaula) and is now coming back to you.
