  1. And this doesn’t even the include the social ostracism and potential violence for leaving your religion.

  2. Let me guess it does NOT actually apply to leaving your religion which is NOT Islam (even though such religions do exist in these countries, and in some like Iran are even nominally protected by the law whilst this does not apply in practice) in order to become Moslem.

In every single of these countries it does NOT apply to that, but only to leaving Islam to become some other religionist or atheist.

So you _can_ cease to be Jewish or Christian in Iran and become a Shiah Moslem, that is even encouraged, but at the same time you cannot leave even the minorty Sunni Islam in that very same Iran to become a Zoroastrian.

    So this should be specified.

Leaving Islam. Not your religion. There are other people of other religions in those countries.

  4. It isn’t ‘leaving your religion’. It’s ‘leaving Islam’.

Leaving another religion is not a criminal offence in any of the countries in the map.

  5. I’m surprised most of the Islamic nations are fine with leaving your religion. Egypt, Indonesia and Libya which are very religious are okay? Is it because Egypt has Coptic minorities and Indonesia still has Christians and Hindi minorities?

  6. Not leaving “your religion” but only when leaving Islam, leaving any other religion isn’t criminalised.

  7. It’s not “leaving your religion” it’s “leaving Islam”. Converting to Islam is allowed and often encouraged.

  8. Such a weird concept as well. Surely false worship is worse in Gods eyes than losing faith?
I’m not religious myself, but I figure that if i were there’d be none I would detest more than those who merely pretend to worship for their own gain.

Unrelated but the only likeable country on this map is probably Malaysia and maybe the Maldives.

This is also a tiny picture, When u count the countries where leaving Islam u get in trouble for cases such as Taxes, inheritance, education, social pressure, marriage etc, the whole picture becomes much more darker to what the Islamic world really is
