Always glad to see more recognition for the nation of Kosovo.

Apparently Spain doesn’t recognize Kosovo not to support separatist movements as in Catalonia?

Weird seeing Algiers, Morocco and Tunisia as they are Muslim nations without some special relation to Serbia (maybe it has to do with Western Sahara for part of them), also Argentina is generally a U.S. puppet when it comes to international relations.
EU countries don’t really matter as the EU as a whole recognizes Kosovo, so it’s mostly a nice gesture for Serbia.

Recognizes Kosovo but doesn’t recognize Palestine because apparently simping for Israel is considered ‘’America First’’ 🤡

How do you “withdraw recognition”? If you recognized it, you did

For people who are interested, here’s the wiki article about Kosovo’s international recognition:
8 countries withdrew their recognition, and in 2025 4 countries recognized Kosovo’s independence.
It also tells about the reasons countries have giving on why they don’t recognize Kosovo.

Yes… the “anti-Serbian” war and whole destruction of Yugoslavia is a very sad chapter in European relations. It was brutal expansion of the German “influence zone” at the cost of the weakening Russian one, and as usual who suffered were those Slavs between Moscow and Berlin. Germans got permission from Uncle Sam (later even full support in exchange for fully supporting the 1st Gulf War – btw we remember what Joschka told USA when they demanded help in the 2nd war…) and even sided with openly aggressive Muslims to weaken Serbia more. Both Germans and Russians escalated the conflicts to prevent possible recreating of any Soviet-less COMECON cooperation of Central European post-commie states
.
Those conflicts forced everybody to “choose sides”, and colors on this map simply reflect it. Quite ironically, Slovenia and Croatia (also Czechia, after “smooth” destruction of Czechoslovakia) are much more subordinate to Germany today than Yugoslavia ever was to the mighty Soviet Union even at the peak of its power.

Just goes to show how performative Spain’s recognition of Palestine as a state was when they don’t even recognize a country in the same continent

Can we please accept Kosovo as a new state, it’s very obvious it will never reunite with Serbia again and we’re better off with a separate state in terms of humanity. Free those Albanians.

I looked at brazilian sources, and basically Brazil doesn’t recognize Kosovo because it has excellent relations with Serbia. And if Serbia were to recognize Kosovo one day, Brazil would also recognize Kosovo’s independence. But from what little I know about the geopolitics of the Balkans, that will be difficult to happen.

I have a question, not to be mean or try start shit. But could Kosovo be considered a proxy state, or a separatist movement? Or maybe even a mix of the two

I have little time for nationalism of any type. Countries are just administrative units.

Frankly I’m surprised here in Italy we recognise Kosovo as well. The precedent set by Kosovo’s independence would mean that many of our autonomous regions (Sicily, Sardinia, South Tyrol) could totally be justified in claiming independence even if it goes against the Italian law.

Serbia will never-ever recognize Kosovo as an independent state, so in the end it doesn’t really matter. Kosovars have been encouraged lately because Serbia’s current president is the greatest traitor in the history of the Serbian people. He has made numerous concessions, creating the illusion that the Kosovo issue is being resolved. However, that will change soon, and we will be back at the starting point again.

Kosovo is a fake country to me. There are Albanians and Albania, there are Serbians and Serbia. “Kosovan” ethnicity doesn’t exist, so what’s the point. Like as if former Yugoslavia isn’t split enough already…

As far as I can tell Kosovo is a done and dusted issue. Serbs know it. They only use it for propaganda purposes and as a national sport.
In my opinion the serb government (past and present) are barbarians. In the 90s in the heart of Europe when everyone was watching Friends they start a “final solution” style “war” against all the ethnicities they needed disappearing. And if the local population was trying to defend themselves against extermination they would be categorised as a terror group? Make it make sense. Sort of like you hold still let me kill you and your kids otherwise you are a criminal. Not much has been done to punish them. Even today they try to balance between Moscow and Brussel.
If you notice they are always the problem down there in the Balkans which says a lot as they have a lot of problems already being one of the poorest regions of Europe.

Kosovo i Metohija is a part of Serbia. Sadly, it’s currently held hostage in an artificial state-like entity as a collaboration between local mafia and western criminals with common interests.
