The Croatian public broadcaster HRT has published its financial plan for 2026, which includes funds allocated both to the country’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 and the organisation of Dora, Croatia’s national selection.
According to the plan, HRT intends to spend a total of €959,000 on Eurovision and Dora 2026. Of this amount, €382,000 will be allocated to Croatia’s participation in Eurovision 2026, while €577,000 will be used for the organisation of Dora.
At the same time, HRT forecasts a 19.1% reduction in overall spending on other television productions compared to 2025. This decrease is attributed to a reduced need for external technical services, fewer quiz shows and prize funds, as well as lower costs for scenography, recordings and dubbing.
Notably, Junior Eurovision is not included in HRT’s financial plan for 2026. The plan was approved before this year’s contest in Tbilisi, leaving open the possibility that Croatia’s participation in Junior Eurovision 2026 could be decided at a later stage.
Dora 2026: When and where it will take place
Dora 2026 will take place in February at the HRT studios in Zagreb and will consist of two semi-finals and a grand final. The winner of Dora will represent Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, which will be held in Vienna.
