Outdated map. Norwegian police has basically been on and off routinely armed since 2014 (depending on terror threat level) and are permanently armed since July 2025.
Also I thought only Northern Irish police was routinely armed, not the republic of Ireland?

**As a lot of comments are pointing out, beat police in An Garda Síochána, the police force for the Republic of Ireland, do not carry firearms. The have rapid response units that do. Norwegian police have access to a wide range of powerful weapons. However, ordinary uniformed patrol officers (“blue-light” street cops) did not routinely carry handguns until July 2025. Since then, Norwegian police have been armed to the teeth as a matter of routine.
