As a Turkish, I am now shocked. I feel like I was living in a different planet than the rest of you all

  2. Is it because of the Energizer Bunny? Americans will be confused but this is NOT the Energinzer bunny we’re talking about. I’ve never heard of the Duracell bunny.

Google says they use the Energinzer bunny in North America and Turkey so this must be it. two of the largest battery companies in the world and they both have a pink bunny mascot, just in different regions.

This is kind of a weird story.

So, Duracell has used a pink bunny as it’s mascot for decades. But in the 80s, Energizer started running a campaign meant to be a parody of Duracell’s wherein they also started using a different pink bunny as their mascot. The Energizer Bunny became a huge success in the United States and Canada, to a point where it became way more recognizable than the Duracell bunny ever was. But now there were two competing battery companies both trying to use pink bunnies as their mascots. Duracell managed to copyright it in the EU, Energizer got it in the US and Canada (and I guess also Turkey). So, in those places, Energizer uses just like an anthropomorphic battery as their mascot.

  4. As a Turk i would rather bear to bunny. Its funny the only bear mascot in Turkey. I’m not complaining.

  5. Batteries AA size were collectibles for me. We had the local brand Pilsan which always dripped. Then Volta, philips, kodak, energizer, duracell and so many others.

  6. Hold on… im in uk now but as a turk i thought the british duracells just had a rabbit mascot for easter?!?!?!?!?

    The fuck?????
