President Jakov Milatović said that in Montenegro “no one should be left to their own devices.”
Today, he addressed representatives of the Montenegrin economy and the Red Cross, thanking them for their participation in the campaign launched on the occasion of the Day of the Fight against Poverty.
“The funds have been fully transferred to the Red Cross of Montenegro,” said Milatović, adding that the Red Cross will provide food and hygiene packages for families across the country as early as December. “It’s not a small thing when a person has nothing. It’s not a small thing when a child goes to bed hungry.”
The President of Montenegro reminded, as announced by his cabinet, that the Red Cross keeps precise records and emphasized that the key is “for aid to reach every family, in every municipality”. “Today we are not ending one action, we are setting a rule: that success is not measured only by profit, but by how much we care for each other”.

“This is not the last such initiative. There are people who cannot wait,” said Milatović, calling on companies to continue the “wave of solidarity” and partnership with the Red Cross, so that aid has concrete results on the ground.
The President of the Red Cross of Montenegro, Mitar Vučković, said that, thanks to Milatović’s initiative and representatives of the business community, “2.200 Montenegrin families will receive necessary assistance this winter as well,” and that the Red Cross will provide around 1.200 one-time aid and manage to “at least partially take care of a total of 3.400 vulnerable households in our country.”
The director of Mtel Montenegro, Zoran Milovanović, welcomed and praised Milatović’s initiative and stressed the need for greater involvement of business people in similar initiatives. “We are very happy to join this donation campaign, because we saw an opportunity to participate in a different way in improving the lives of those who need help the most.”
