KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A shooting in Kansas City, Missouri, ended up with an investigation across the state line at University of Kansas Health.

The shooting happened near 39th Street and State Line Road and sent one person to a hospital.

KCPD said the man who was injured remains in critical condition Monday night.

A spokesperson for the health system said a stray bullet hit a double-paneled section of one of the towers at the health system.

The spokesperson said the bullet did not penetrate the glass.

Police closed the intersection of 39th and Stateline to investigate. KU Police Department said there is no current threat to anyone on the campus near 39th and Rainbow.

KU Health said patients and employees were able to access facilities and all buildings on the campus during the investigation.
