Yesterday, the Tivat police filed a criminal complaint with the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Kotor against IK (44) from Podgorica on suspicion that he obtained 1.500 euros by defrauding a person from Tivat.

“It is suspected that at the end of August 2025, IK approached the 77-year-old injured party, during his stay in a catering facility, and introduced himself to him as a relative from Bosnia and Herzegovina. By falsely presenting the facts, it is suspected that he misled the injured party and asked him for a loan in the amount of 1.500 euros, promising to return the money the next day, after which the injured party handed him the said amount,” the Police Directorate said in a statement.

It is added that the suspect then fled in an unknown direction.

“Information was collected from IK at the premises of the Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions, where he is located due to suspicion that he had previously committed the aforementioned criminal offense in the territory of several cities in Montenegro, in which way he obtained illegal material gain in the amount of several thousand euros,” the statement concludes.
